"Swiss cheesemakers started emigrating to the United States and Canada in the 20th century and are still doing so in the 21st," notes Eric Masseraz. "They set up large-scale cheese dairies in the hope of making it big and living the American dream." That's what prompted Hans Rothenbühler, a certified master cheesemaker from the canton ofwel Bern, to emigrate to America, where he found work in a more cheese dairy in 1950.
